Wrestling in Prayer

As I’ve been reading the book of Colossians, I noticed a verse that usually wouldn’t strike me as I read the Bible. It says in:

Colossians 4:12

“Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.”

The key phrase that struck me is: “He is always wrestling in prayer for you”. In “The Message” it mentions that Epaphras has been tireless in praying for them while in the “New living translation” it says that he prays earnestly for them.

Recently, when I go to school for the classes I teach at DLSU, I pass by the supreme court and there are a lot of rallies by a group of farmers demanding justice and equal rights to their share of the land that is supposedly their inheritance. During these times there are a lot of barricades and police officers on duty just in case any riot happens. Everytime I am in front of an officer I automatically become wary of my actions subconsciously in the presence these authorities. Probably it’s because I respect the officers in uniform and know that I have to be on my best behavior whenever I am in front of these men (not to mention that they hold a gun!).
